Friedenswege am Friedenstag

The ten peace trails begin at various locations in Chemnitz. They do not run in a dead straight line and do not walk in lockstep. They do not tread on the spot and leave prejudices by the wayside.
They are not loud, but offer an opportunity to exchange ideas.
And by all arriving at Chemnitz Neumarkt, they show that different starting points and different routes in life are not an obstacle to coming together peacefully.
Chemnitz residents and guests in the city are cordially invited to come to one of the following starting points on March 5 and, after a small kick-off event, to set out from there on a peace trail and arrive in the city center:

Start 16:30:

• Stele, Turnstraße 39
  Brigitte Glänzel lived through March 5, 1945 at Turnstraße 39. She talks about that night at her old home, where a stele now commemorates the bombing in the Second World War. On March 5, 2026, at 4:30 p.m., representatives of the City of Chemnitz, the Buntmacher*innen and other participants will meet with the contemporary witness and then take part in the peace walks.
