In the organizer's words:

A young woman wakes up with a black eye. Rosa is back in her home town after many years in London and is confused by memories: of her youth in a boarding school, of her mother who died young and of old friends who no longer speak to her. She is torn between nostalgia and reality. A haunting debut novel.

Emily Marie Lara (*1993) studied German, Romance Studies and Communication. After years in the UK and Berlin, she now lives in NRW again. During the day she works in the media industry, at night she writes by candlelight and on paper.

The event will be moderated by Michael Serrer, Literaturbüro NRW.
