As part of the events accompanying the special exhibition "Ebert's Legacy - A Democracy with Perspectives", we invite you to a special musical evening:
Under the title "For You, Friedrich", the renowned singer Juliane Hollerbach and pianist Olga Tomilov will dedicate themselves to the life and work of Friedrich Ebert. Songs, chansons and hits from around 1870 to the 1920s can be heard - music that not only entertains, but also makes a piece of contemporary history audible.
The music ranges from romantic art songs and workers' anthems to the dazzling hits of the 1920s. Classics such as "Ich hab mein Herz in Heidelberg verloren" or the "Solidaritätslied" meet almost forgotten melodies.
The songs have been selected and arranged in such a way that they seem to follow Ebert's biography almost automatically - as a musical portrait of a man who shaped democracy in Germany like no other.
We are looking forward to an evening with lots of music, history and emotion - and cordially invite you to join us.
Registration is not required. Admission is free.
