When the world comes to an end, the young Furiosa is kidnapped from the matriarchy of Green Place and falls into the hands of a large biker horde led by the warlord Dementus. On their foray through the wasteland, they come across the Citadel, which is ruled by Immortan Joe. As the two tyrants battle for supremacy, Furiosa endures many trials and plots to survive and exact revenge.

Almost ten years after the surprise success of FURY ROAD, which turned the female protagonist Furiosa into an action icon, her back story is now being told. Instead of Charlize Theron, Anya Taylor-Joy plays the equally taciturn and tough title heroine and thus still remains a rare exception in the wasteland of male-dominated action films. Roaring engines, fast cuts, crazy stunts, disturbing characters and spurting blood are all there as usual.
