Born in Latvia and raised with music and movement, Alisa aka GAISMA was fascinated by the world of the arts from an early age. At the age of fifteen, she left her home country and moved to Germany alone to study at the Ballet Academy. This was followed by engagements at the Bavarian State Opera and the Stuttgart Ballet - six intensive years characterized by discipline, expression and international stage experience. With her latest album "Motherland", produced by Dexter, Alisa is now taking a new direction: Alternative Hip-Hop and contemporary R&B, discovering her rap voice and consistently pushing her artistic boundaries. The album reflects her ongoing development as a versatile artist - an interplay of the various elements of her creative work into a modern, forward-looking sound. In addition to her musical work, Alisa is also active in visual projects. Her creative portfolio includes analog and digital photography - both in front of and behind the camera - as well as collages and video works. These visual works are often in direct dialog with her music, creating a symbiosis of sound and image. In her projects, Alisa acts as composer, cinematographer and performer - combining choreography and improvisation to create a contemporary form of movement.
