Galli - Seht zu, wie ihr zurechtkommt

In the organizer's words:

The artist Galli was born in Saarland in 1944. After completing her basic training at the Werkkunstschule in Saarbrücken under Oscar Holweck, she moved to Berlin in 1969 and studied under the Dutch artist and graphic designer Martin Engelmann, who was close to the Cobra Group and whose master student she later became. Galli came to Berlin when the spirit of the 1968 movement was still in the air and provocation, awakening and upheaval could be felt not only at the university. At the beginning of the 1980s, the Neue Wilde movement developed in Germany and Austria, a mainly male-dominated group to which Galli is often assigned, but from which she consciously distanced herself in her painting.

The exhibition Seht zu, wie ihr zurechtkommt, curated by Annabell Burger, shows around fifty works created between 1985 and 2015. These include rarely shown artist's books and drawings as well as paintings from Galli's most productive years.
