The people flock to the monthly belly dance beat event in mixed crowds.
GAYHANE has long been known beyond the city's borders and has already found imitators in many major cities. For years, LGBT*I people and their friends have been coming together on the QueerOriental dancefloor, which DJs Ipek, mikki_p, Aziza A and Amr Hammer create with Turkish, Arabic, Greek and Hebrew pop music. An atmospheric party quickly develops in a mixture of morning and evening sounds and temperaments, the flair of which is underlined by the imaginative transformation of the venue into an oriental marquee.
The dance craze is interrupted at 1:00 a.m. by midnight peaks. Before there is a show performance by a special guest from the program palette of various artists, it is first important to bring an important concern of the evening closer to the guests: Namely, not only to enjoy an upbeat evening, but also to join our guests in practicing solidarity with a wide variety of political and social projects and groups.
This integral part of GAYHANE's party concept is seen as solidarity practiced by the event team and the entire SO36 collective. When the halay (oriental circle dance) is played after the show at the disco, faggots, straights, lesbians and somehow everyone dances arm in arm, so that the atmosphere boils and boils....until the early morning.....
