Gee Hye Lee Trio feat. Bänsch & Kuhn Encounters

The international jazz trio consists of pianist Gee Hye Lee, drummer Mareike Wiening and double bassist Joel Locher.

In order to break new musical ground and expand the timbre of her trio, band leader Gee Hye Lee has recruited two outstanding artists for her new project: the young Jakob Bänsch and Alexander "Sandi" Kuhn. Kuhn - a long-time musical companion and collaborator in her duo project SANGEE - contributes his unique, lyrical and soulful saxophone voice.

The young trumpeter Jakob Bänsch, winner of the German Jazz Award 2024, completes the ensemble with his impressive playing. The program "Encounters" is a tribute to the diversity and depth of human encounters.

Gee Hye Lee processes personal experiences from concert tours, friendships and memories in her compositions.
