Gefühlte Ungleichheit - Warum wir uns oft täuschen

Despite a high degree of equality between women and men in countries such as Germany, many people still have the impression that there are major inequalities. We have investigated whether certain perceptual biases can explain why this is the case.

To do this, we conducted a series of studies in different countries with relatively high levels of gender equality (Sweden, Germany, USA, UK). The participating women and men were asked to indicate how much inequality they perceive in society and in their own lives, how they assess the views of others and how they feel about measures for more equality. We want to talk about this.

PD Dr. Timur Sevincer is a private lecturer in psychology at Leuphana University Lüneburg. His research focuses on motivational psychology and social psychology. He is the author of numerous scientific publications in international journals and is regularly involved in interdisciplinary projects. He is also involved in public science communication on current social issues.
