flunker productions [Wahlsdorf]
A detour into the inexplicable with puppets, people and music
We all embark on our final journey at some point. But where does it actually go? What awaits us after life? In this respect, mankind is floating in a cosmos of almost boundless ideas, concepts and hopes: Heaven or hell, transmigration or haunting, revered or forgotten, nirvana or simply the great nothingness? And however and wherever we may be - what do the dead actually do for all eternity?
But let's just ask them ourselves! Anchored in a highly enigmatic intermediate world, in the new production by flunker productions the deceased float in a kind of transit area from here to there, in the last inn before eternity, so to speak, more or less ready to make contact. Hosted, cared for, overheard and understood by an opaque and ageless hostess and sung about by an otherwise rather taciturn corner stool, all these ghosts carry their stories and memories from this world as well as great expectations of the hereafter within themselves and to the outside world. Some of them are bitterly sad, others howlingly funny, some stinking lies and all of them absolutely worth hearing, seeing, feeling and celebrating again. Little by little, the fragments of impressive images, texts and musical interjections finally weave themselves into a speculative saga about life and death and the great afterlife, in which a wild boar, a dog and a child play not insignificant roles.
