In the organizer's words:
LAMBE-LAMBE Miniature Theater Festival!
Big stories told on a small scale!
Small, tiny, Lambe Lambe. The Westflügel expands onto numerous stages while shrinking to just a few square centimeters: the miniature theater in a box, called Lambe Lambe, plays with dimensions, leads us by the nose into the box, whispers in our ears, and lets us emerge once again, enchanted. Lambe Lambe refers, among other things, to a theater technique practiced worldwide that experienced a resurgence in the 1990s, particularly in Latin America:
In miniature theater boxes, short scenes are performed with puppets or objects for just one audience member.
Together with international guests, the Westflügel is celebrating this year’s summer festival on the closed-off Hähnelstraße as a celebration of the tiny. You’re invited to discover these special theatrical worlds on the street and inside the building!
Starting at 2:00 p.m., the Lambe-Lambe miniature theater performances will be staged for you; in between, there will also be “full-scale” puppet theater performances, specifically:
3:00 p.m. & 4:30 p.m. “Rotz & Wasser” by Lehmann, Wenzel, and Ulrike Kley, for everyone ages 4 and up (in the Westflügel Hall)
5:30 p.m. “Sonst noch Wünsche” by flunker produktionen, for everyone ages 5 and up (street stage)
9:00 PM “Schnitzel of Love” by Stefanie Oberhoff feat. Tomy Suil (street stage)
Free admission to the plays and attractions at the summer festival; we welcome donations. To avoid excessively long lines for the Lambe-Lambe theater performances, 6-show Lambe-Lambe passes will be available for purchase.
