In 1938, construction began on the ring road around Munich between Lochhausen-Langwied and Allach, which had already been planned as a highway embankment in the 1930s. Due to the Second World War, work was stopped again in 1942. After planning for the ring road was resumed in the 1980s, it ran further to the west. However, the old route between Lochhausen-Langwied and Allach was largely preserved and today serves as a local recreation area where you can still see and recognize much of the eventful history of this structure.
