The documentary play "Global Player" is about corporate managers and refugees who travel the world and cross borders. In its traditional sense, the term "global player" refers to economic players who participate in international competition and achieve global supremacy by tapping into markets outside their national headquarters. Muhammed is a global player, not only because he is a very good footballer, but also because, as a refugee, he has crossed borders without a passport or money. A border crosser and expert who made his way to Germany alone as a minor. A global player who innovatively crosses borders - as companies do - in order to participate in the international market. While economic players enforce the removal of borders for their markets, ever higher border fences are being built on the outer edges of Europe for other global players and refugees. Companies like Frontex are guarding these borders by any means necessary. They decide which bodies are allowed to cross borders and which are not. More and more money is being spent on developing new technologies to seal off Europe. Although the EU borders are becoming increasingly difficult to cross, people decide to cross them, even if it means risking their lives. Thousands die every year in the attempt. In doing so, they achieve top performances. They travel long distances, they cross oceans, they jump over high walls, they perform almost Olympic feats. Aren't they the real global players? On stage are young refugees living in Munich and experts.
