Global Summer 2024 - Ayalolo Band live at Pure Note

Dominic William Quaye was born in the Ghanaian capital Accra. His father was a pianist, piano teacher and piano tuner. As a result, little Dominic started piano lessons at the age of 4. Just a few years later, he performed at the British Council Hall in his home town, and his compatriots were also able to admire him on TV. From 1982 to 1992, he worked as a pianist in many West African clubs and hotels. He won the prize of the "Concours Diapason de Musique Classique" in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. He went on to study classical piano at the "Conservartoir National" in Nice before moving to Greece and becoming a member of the band "Ishemable".
In 1998 he won the "Berklee College Award" in Athens. He began studying jazz with Richard John Taylor in Cologne. He now lives in Düsseldorf and performs with many German and African musicians throughout Europe and Japan. Dominic will be playing with his band "Ayolo". Look forward to West African rhythms and joie de vivre.
