Two years after the successful premiere, the city of Stuttgart is once again inviting visitors to a special musical experience on the market square on Thursday, June 26 and Friday, June 27.

Seven carillonneurs will be playing classical and contemporary compositions on the carillon in the town hall tower at the Second Carillon Festival. The 30 free-hanging bells are operated from a console. Ekaterina Porizko, Simon Müller, Vegar Sandholt, Leonhard Hell, Toni Ulrich, Lea-Marie Gunther and Raphael Weber will perform. Finally, the singers of the gospel choir "Gospel im Osten" under the direction of Alexander Pfeiffer and Ekaterina Porizko will give a concert.

The festival takes place on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 5 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.. Guided tours of the town hall tower will also be offered on both days. Tickets are available in advance at the information desk in the town hall until 6 pm on the day of the tours.

The 30 bells in the 61 meter high town hall tower were all cast by the Kurtz bell foundry in Stuttgart. The largest has a diameter of 1.15 meters and weighs 950 kilograms, while the smallest measures 22 centimeters in diameter and weighs six kilograms. All are decorated with the city's coat of arms. The bells are in daily use five times a day. At 11.05, 12.05, 14.35, 18.35 and 21.35, they play songs that fit the respective season - from "May has come" to "Sweeter the bells never ring".
