The documentary filmmaker and journalist Henriette Kaiser presents her book Goethe in Buenos Aires. In the book, she collects interviews with German-Jewish refugees who were able to escape to Buenos Aires during the Nazi era and found a new home here. Henriette Kaiser has donated film footage taken during the interviews to the JMB. The film sequences will be shown publicly for the first time as part of the book launch.
The cultural scientist Liliana Feierstein opens up perspectives on German-Jewish experiences in Argentina and on the complex and diverse history of immigration. She will provide insights into current research approaches that focus on material culture.
At the end of the evening, Liliana Feierstein and Henriette Kaiser will talk together about the history and present of German-speaking Jews in Argentina.

Klaus Mangold Auditorium,
