Live concerts, experimental music formats, talks, and more. You can look forward to international and local artists, world premieres, and music in all its forms—from large stages to intimate club shows.
“Double Dribble / Grand Jeté” moves between basketball and ballet, competition and choreography, as well as drill, desire, and memory. Drawing on personal narratives, pop culture, and theoretical references, Göksu Kunak explores the repetitions, rhythms, and gestures through which bodies are shaped, trained, and observed. What initially appears to be a contrast reveals itself as a surprisingly close-knit fabric of discipline, elegance, exhaustion, and pain. Set against the backdrop of a sports court, a dance studio, and familiar landscapes of memory, a choreography unfolds in which notions of performance, beauty, and control come into view. In the process, bodily memory, pop aesthetics, and social order intertwine to form a multi-layered cosmos that blurs the boundaries between sports, dance, and everyday life. Göksu Kunak lives in Berlin and works at the intersections of performance, text, installation, and moving image. Born in Turkey, the non-binary artist combines queer and intersectional perspectives with references from Arabesk culture, body politics, and memory. In Kunak’s work, performance becomes a space where social choreographies are made visible and where alternative forms of desire, temporality, and coexistence can be explored. In 2025, Göksu Kunak was awarded the “Berlin Art Prize.”
