After Anna von Hauswolff and Emily Ruth Rundle, ZOLA JESUS is the third artist to come to Munich to envelop the sacred halls of St. Matthew's Church in spherical clouds of sound. In the case of ZOLA JESUS, these will be created on the piano instead of a synth or laptop, stripped to the bone. Combined with the haunting, classically trained voice of Nika Roza Danilova, the result is a unique concert experience not to be missed.

She recorded her first songs at the age of 16 in her native Wisconsin. Nika Roza Danilova has been releasing under the name ZOLA JESUS since 2009. With her breathtaking performance at New York's Guggenheim Museum in 2012, together with the Mivos String Quartet and under the guidance of J.G. Thirlwell, she also attracted attention outside the gothic and industrial scene.

Her current album "Arkhon" was created in collaboration with producer and sound wizard Randall Dunn (Sunn O))), Earth, Mandy and Candyman Soundtracks). Drummer and percussionist Matt Chamberlain, who has already appeared on albums by Fiona Apple, Bob Dylan and David Bowie, is part of Tori Amos' regular band and gives the album its unique drive. With "Arkhon", ZOLA JESUS has succeeded in walking a tightrope between goth and pop noir, exploring and crossing musical boundaries with total dedication. We can also look forward to this pure devotion at their date in Munich, which you should already mark in your diary.
