In a world gone mad, it’s hard to think straight
A drone crashes into a shelter; grainy footage shows a soldier’s final seconds, set to combative Phonk music. Cut. A rapper holds up his very first bottle of iced tea to the camera and grins. Cut. A big city at night, with a greenish tint. Bright and clear, the trail of a rocket stands out as it strikes a skyscraper; you hear the explosion, alarm sirens, and frantic dog barking. An established indie pop artist sings his most famous song; the camera pans, and suddenly Crazy Frog enters the frame, in a good mood and wearing only his distinctive vest. He puts his arm around the famous singer, and the two of them break into the chorus of their new duet. Cut. Cut. Cut.

Grim104’s new album, “No Country For Old Grim,” is a wild, dark collage of all these images that have influenced both world events and our personal sensibilities in recent years: With the wars and atrocities of recent years, the relative comfort of the 2010s has finally dissipated, and the sense of political and economic security has eroded in recent years.

And things are starting to unravel on a local level, too: Berlin’s “Poor But Sexy” utopia is a thing of the past, and an obscure, new class society has emerged—those who order the smoothie and those who deliver it in a beat-up Mitsubishi Colt.
In between, there are all the thoughts that cross your mind in your mid-thirties when you haven’t made it into the smoothie class: Should I try to do something “real” after all? Or move away again? Or not?

Starting in April 2026, Grim104 will bring this dance on a knife’s edge to the stage. In 10 cities, rage and ecstasy will erupt in an energetic, raw live show, punctuated time and again by flashes of melancholy and absurdity. Anyone who’s attended concerts on past tours knows that Grim104 will have the audience going wild with this album, too—and first-timers can look forward to a memorable night at the show.
