GRÜNAU 50 – Gebaut für Viele | Kinotour

The complete documentary series “GRÜNAU 50 – Built for Many” is going on a theater tour.

FilmmakerBirk Poßecker, known for the documentary“Hütten sind für alle da” abouteastern Leipzig, turns his attention this time to Leipzig-Grünau. The five-part series follows people who shape the neighborhood and tells stories of everyday life, community, and change—in an accessible, multifaceted way, free of clichés.

From ice swimming in Lake Kulkwitz to seniors dancing hip-hop and the first residents of an extraordinary housing project, a multifaceted portrait emerges of a neighborhood that is often judged too hastily.

All five episodes will be shown in their entirety at each screening (total runtime: 81 minutes). At the screenings on August 15 and August 19 (Plagwitzer Markthalle), director Birk Poßecker will be present in person and will be available for a post-screening discussion.
