Hagios peace concert: sing along & listen

The HAGIOS peace concert is a sing-along project that ranges from contemplative silence to powerful, polyphonic singing. All you need is your own voice and the anticipation of the experience of transforming the church into a large sound space together with many other people.

We will sing easy-to-learn spiritual canons and peace songs from the HAGIOS song cycle, which continues the old, powerful singing tradition of monasteries and communities such as Taizé in a new way that resonates strongly. It is an evening for pausing, listening and singing along, which can give strength and aims to strengthen inner peace, without which no outer peace will be possible.

The HAGIOS peace concert will be conducted by Helge Burggrabe, who has already composed and realized many cultural projects with soloists, choirs and orchestras, most recently the Epiphany Oratorio for the 700th anniversary of Cologne Cathedral in September 2022. With the HAGIOS project, however, he is pursuing the idea that everyone can sing: "Singing is the true mother tongue of all people" (Yehudi Menuhin). With this in mind, the focus is not on perfection, but on the joy of singing together: everyone is welcome, there are no wrong notes on these evenings! Free admission.
