In the organizer's words:
On September 3, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., the large open-air event “Halle steht auf” will take place on the market square in Halle. The program combines music, culture, discussions, and personal contributions. People from the worlds of culture, science, business, education, healthcare, and civil society will share what democracy means to them and why social participation is important. Artists scheduled to perform include Peter Maffay, “Fury in the Slaughterhouse,” Peter Freudenthaler of “Fools Garden,” “Sotiria,” “IC Falkenberg,” Sarah Lesch, “Tochter,” and Dieter Hallervorden. Numerous musicians from Halle will also be performing.
