Hannovers Orte der Demokratiegeschichte
In the organizer's words:
City tour on Friday, July 3, at 5.30 p.m., on ideas and achievements as well as significant events in Hanover's history of democracy
Equal rights, the right to vote and freedom of expression - all these basic rights are now firmly anchored in our constitution. But the road to our democratic order was long and time and again people or groups stood up for more participation. We want to focus on these people, their ideas and achievements as well as significant events in Hanover's history of democracy at historical locations in the city.
From the protest of the Göttingen Seven against the abolition of the Basic Law, to Hannah Arend, who was born in Hanover, to the Gorleben trek against the establishment of a nuclear waste repository, we will take a look back at around 200 years of democratic history.
The tour starts at the kiosk and ends at the Goseriede
