Hansa Jakob & Elaj | Feierabendkonzert: Ab in Onkel Oskars Garten
In the organizer's words:
Summer Fun at Merkelpark in Esslingen! ☀️ Summer is just around the corner—and we can’t wait to bring the beautiful, historic Merkelpark back to life! Look forward to a colorful series of events from mid-June through September! Instead of just one weekend, this year we’re celebrating summer flexibly and rain or shine, whenever the pop-up bar “fuenfbisneun” is open:Every Sunday starting July 12, from 5–7 p.m., the Feierabendkollektiv will be bringing the finest summer singer-songwriter concerts to Merkelpark.
You can look forward to a diverse program in a relaxed park atmosphere.
This time:
Elaj:
Amid moving boxes and string lights, Elaj from Heidelberg writes songs in a 13-square-meter shared apartment room. What began as a duo project has now evolved into a band centered around singer-songwriter Elaj, who gets the stage—and every hip in the room—moving. At the heart of Elaj’s music is a duet of guitar melodies and vocals that winds its way through raw questions of their own queer identity and hearts in every state of being. The band’s warm and rhythmic sound comes alive in dynamic live sets: bouncy, guitar-heavy, and emotionally charged. On November 14, 2025, Elaj’s debut EP “Zaubern” was released —five songs that could hardly be more different and yet follow the same inner compass: sometimes melancholic with cello, sometimes stirred up by electric guitar riffs, but always radically open and disarmingly honest. Elaj is part of the 13th generation of Bandsupport Mannheim, performed on stage at this year’s Maifeld Derby, and has already opened for Ceci, LIN, and Juli Gilde.
Hansa Jakob:
Hansa Jakob wears his heart on his sleeve! Oscillating between wit and passion, and with plenty of self-deprecating humor, he reflects on the madness of human existence. Sometimes poetic and soulful, sometimes raw and loud, he performs his songs accompanied by guitar and foot drum.
The stage is at Villa Merkel: Pulverwiesen 25, 73728 Esslingen am Neckar
