Hartmann+Konsorten u.a. // GEHEN UND AUSGEHEN

In their reading GEHEN, Pitt Hartmann and Carsten Bender revive one of Thomas Bernhard's best stories. This furious promenade account of going astray in supposedly normal circumstances. Now the literary Bernhard excursion is being expanded. With a spectacular remix: the award-winning author Barbi Marković has not only translated individual sentences from the Austrian original into Serbian, but has also transplanted Bernhard's horror from Vienna to post-war nightlife in Belgrade. "Going" becomes "going out". The breakdown in Rustenschacher's trouser store becomes a social suicide at a Plastikman concert. The Steinhof insane asylum becomes the final retreat in front of the TV. Sentence for sentence with the cascading thunder of the original. And so precisely copied from reality that the story could be set in any metropolis in the world. The "going out" parts are read by Stella Bensmann and Paula Marie Berdrow.
