A music performance by wonderlendt performances

Imagine your face is a shiny mask, but beneath the surface it is crumbling. Imagine your thoughts are rattling coffee cups that are constantly spilling over. Imagine you're on a rollercoaster without realizing it's a rollercoaster. We're all mad in here. The piece Heart Shaped Box is a look at that one well-sealed heart box inside us, where all the stuff we'd rather keep to ourselves is hidden. It is a performative journey into our inner world about fear, excessive demands, depression, self-doubt - and the desire to somehow grasp it all. With a great flair for comedy and language, the result is a playful and radical two-woman show about mental health and the voices in our heads that sometimes just won't shut up. In a mix of song recital, puppetry, visually powerful theater and autofictional narrative, what otherwise remains hidden becomes visible. Between tender and loud, melancholic and grotesque, an evening unfolds that encourages us to look behind the façade - to where the heart beats. And sometimes stumbles.
