Lectures and film "I was a male war bride"
Heidelberg cinema history and cinematic journey through time to the founding year of DIE KAMERA, 1949.
Students from the History Department will present the initial research results from their project "Digital City Tour - Film and Cinema in Heidelberg"(https://hgis.club).
We will then travel back to 1949, the year DIE KAMERA was founded, and present the film "Ich war eine männliche Kriegsbraut", which was not only filmed and set in Heidelberg, but also celebrated its German premiere in Heidelberg at the time.
To get you in the mood, we will be showing a Heidelberg compilation on politics, sport and curiosities from the movie newsreels of the years 1945 - 1955, as was customary at the beginning of every screening.

Film "Hand on heart - we have to build" and discussion
14:00 - 16:00
We welcome our guests with a cup of mulled wine (with or without alcohol) and Advent cookies.
The movie "Hand on heart. We have to build" was actually supposed to be shown at the Gloria Cinema in June 1978. As the film critically scrutinizes the renovation of Heidelberg's old town in the 1970s, the cinema operator at the time decided to cancel it shortly before the screening for "political reasons". Now, 47 years later, we are showing the then student film project (Rolf Silber, Michael Mehrt and Rainer Winter) in a newly digitized version.
We look forward to a subsequent discussion with director Rolf Silber, actor and protagonist Peter Lerchbaumen and architect Till Schweizer (Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects | extended board "Culture for Europe").
