Javier Perianes dedicates much of his recital to his native Spain. The pianist, praised for his precision and brilliance as well as his warm touch, juxtaposes some of Manuel de Falla's early piano pieces with corresponding works by Chopin, which could have served as inspiration for the Spanish composer. De Falla's mature, dance-like "Cuatro Piezas Españolas" from 1908 find a counterpart in Isaac Albéniz's famous piano cycle "Ibéria", which was completed at the same time. Both collections evoke specific Spanish places and landscapes, not least through their coloring and rhythms.
