Among the stars in the countertenor sky, that of Reginald Mobley shines particularly brightly. Having grown up with jazz and gospel music and trained in classical music, the American has thrilled audiences with his exquisite concert programs, which explore a stylistically diverse repertoire ranging from Bach to bebop. Mobley sings all this music with a stunning naturalness and authenticity. He is particularly keen to give the musical heritage of African slaves and works by black composers a voice and greater visibility. He has found a congenial partner in the French jazz pianist and composer Baptiste Trotignon, who, like Mobley, moves "playfully" between jazz and classical music.
