When the Leonkoro Quartet performed at the Heidelberger Frühling String Quartet Festival in early 2022, it was hailed by the press as the great discovery of the festival. According to Lotte Thaler in the FAZ at the time, the ensemble "has an enormous stage presence, glows for the music, takes full risks and amazes with its empathy for the respective sonority of the pieces". Here, the four musicians present the only string quartet by Dutch composer Henriëtte Bosmans, written in 1927 - a highly inspired, post-romantic work. They are joined by two famous quartets by Mendelssohn and Schubert, whose movements are each haunted by song melodies invented by the composers themselves.
