It is rare to find such a young song interpreter as the mezzo-soprano, who was born in Klosterneuburg in Lower Austria in 2003, at a festival. Her performance - still available online - in the final of the Wigmore Hall/Bollinger International Song Competition in September 2024 alongside her excellent pianist Richard Fu makes it immediately clear how deservedly Anja Mittermüller won the main prize. "Longing for infinity" is the secret theme of her debut recital, which ranges from Schubert and Mahler to the Catalan Fernando Obradors and demonstrates the vocal finesse and natural authority of her approach to this delicate art form.
