What tasks should institutions such as the Konzerthaus Stadthalle fulfill in the future? In the lounges - the discourse format on the festival weekends - guests from the worlds of culture and science will discuss the festival theme "Back to the future". The audience is invited to take part in the subsequent discussion.

Lydia Grün taught as a professor of music education at the Detmold University of Music and was an expert on the Council for Cultural Education before becoming President of the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts in 2022, which had previously been rocked by several scandals. One of her key topics is participation and diversity in the cultural sector in times of social radicalization. Inspired by the sociologist Aladin El-Mafaalani, Grün advocates patiently negotiating the free spaces and boundaries of "open" institutions.
