World-class percussionist Alexei Gerassimez, a long-time companion of the Heidelberger Frühling, is on the trail of the elemental forces of nature in his current project together with three percussionist friends and his brother Nicolai on the piano. His own "Suite of Elements" brings water, wood, stone, metal and fur to life one after the other. The "Canto Ostinato" by Simeon ten Holt, one of the most popular works of minimal music from the Netherlands, forms a meditation on the eternal cycle of growth and decay. Originally written for an unspecified number of keyboard instruments, this ostinato song is performed here by four mallet instruments and piano.
Followed by an artist talk with Anselm Cybinski in the festival center
