She has come an impressive way since coming to Heidelberg from St. Petersburg with her family in the early 1990s: Alina Pogostkina, the former child prodigy who won the prestigious Sibelius Competition in 2005, studied baroque violin with Reinhard Goebel in Salzburg and has constantly expanded her stylistic spectrum; she is now a professor herself in Basel. In addition to her guest appearances as a soloist with top international orchestras, Pogostkina is also involved in her "Mindful Music Making" initiative. The program aims to help young musicians develop their individual expressive potential. In three masterpieces of duo literature that are particularly close to her heart, the fascinating violinist, alongside French pianist and composer Jérôme Ducros, can now show how sensitively and agilely she reacts to the most exciting musical texts.
