The 19th century loved the most popular of all Mozart symphonies because of its melancholy, even fatalistic tone. Today, in addition to the memorable themes, it is probably the pulsating motor skills that make the work so appealing. It will be interesting to see what the Trinity Sinfonia will do with it.

1 - 1.45 pm, Wolfgang Marguerre Hall

The concert takes place as part of the Open Concert Hall discovery tour, in which the entire Stadthalle concert hall becomes a resonance chamber on the first Sunday of the festival from 10 am to 5 pm. Igor Levit and the Trinity Sinfonia, consisting of hand-picked soloists and chamber musicians under Fabian Müller, will really make the long-lost Stadthalle resonate. In between, they will swarm out into the many small halls and rooms of the Stadthalle to make music there - close and approachable - in smaller ensembles. While the main stage in the Wolfgang Marguerre Hall is used during the "odd" hours, the chamber music formations take over the hall shortly after the "even" hours. Three popular and at the same time profound works from around 1800 form the backbone of the program - all of them highlights that have had an impact far into the future and still amaze every time they are heard today. In between, the music is colorful, virtuosic and amusing. Of course, there will also be plenty to eat and drink.
