With "Like a Hobo", Lauterbach now undertakes one of his rare excursions to live stages throughout Germany and explores the literary DNA of the USA, the great storytellers such as Mark Twain, Truman Capote, William Faulkner, Jack London, F. Scott Fitzgerald, John Steinbeck, O'Henry, who have inspired and helped shape world literature and whose texts have lost none of their relevance to this day. He focuses primarily on their essays and short stories, some of which were written before their great and well-known works.

As a big music fan, Heiner Lauterbach also covers the musical storytellers who founded the blues and laid the foundations for today's soul, rock and pop music. The COLOGNE BLUES CLUB feat. Timo Gross provides the soundtrack to a tribute to "storytellers" such as Robert Johnson, Leadbelly, Son House and others.
