Heinrich Del Core - Advent, Advent und jeder rennt

Every year, we look forward to the Christ Child! But as soon as the pre-Christmas season begins, the heavenly peace is over. Candles are set out, wreaths are made.
Advent is when the wife clears out the basement and decorates the apartment. As a man, you’d like to iron the laundry just once a year, but all the outlets are taken up by string lights.

In downtown areas, you struggle through the crowds in search of gifts. By December 23, we’re completely exhausted and realize: “I’ve finally got my gifts together—now I just need to get the ones for everyone else!” It’s best to switch to “Swabian gift-giving” right away. No more buying anything—better to just accept the packages for the neighbors throughout Advent! And when it comes to the family… back in the day, you just ate whatever was on the table. Today, the son is a vegetarian, his girlfriend is vegan, the daughter has a severe aversion to overalls, and the wife even puts milk in her sugar.

Christmas is actually the festival of love, but can we still call it that when the wife bakes mountains of “Bredle” (Christmas cookies) but then hides them so her husband doesn’t eat them all before Christmas? On Christmas Eve, you first have to go on a “Bredle” hunt. This makes Christmas feel more like Easter. However, we shouldn’t forget to ask the right questions during Advent, such as:

1. Can you rate the Three Wise Men with stars?
2. Why does “mulled wine” rhyme with “I can’t go to work tomorrow”?
3. Why do 9 out of 10 geese recommend roast beef as a festive meal?

And most importantly, at the end of the year, you should make amends with your partner: “Honey, if I’ve hurt, annoyed, or disappointed you over the past year, let me tell you: there must have been a reason for it.”
Heinrich Del Core was born during the Christmas season—his father is Italian and his mother is from Swabia—so it’s bound to be a bit of a mix-up. And when, like Heinrich Del Core, your birthday is on December 6th and your father isn’t into St. Nicholas, well, then Merry Christmas to you.

Heinrich Del Core was born in Rottweil as the son of an Italian guest worker. After graduating from middle school, he initially decided to pursue an apprenticeship as a dental technician.

It wasn’t until much later—in 1995—that he began exploring comedy magic. Comedy magic evolved into stand-up comedy and cabaret. He left his career as a dental technician in 2000 and has since been performing successfully as a comedian and cabaret artist on stages across Germany, as well as appearing as a guest on numerous TV shows.
