With the festival Was anderes machen (The Home and the Movie) silent green 2023 takes the archive of the ZDF editorial office Das kleine Fernsehspiel as a starting point for a historical retrospective, a description of the state and the question of the future of auteur film with an exhibition, events and a symposium. On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the ZDF editorial office and the Arsenal archive, television and film heritage will be commemorated together for the first time.

Openly and bluntly, women of different ages and social affiliations speak of their hopes, longings and disappointments. Against the backdrop of East German landscapes and architecture - the film travels from Zwickau to the Baltic Sea - a direct impression of life and mood in the GDR, one year before the collapse, emerges.
