Heriot

The British metalcore band Heriot is one of the most exciting newcomers on the international heavy scene. With an uncompromising sound, the band deliberately transcends classic genre boundaries and combines metalcore with elements of blackened metal, death metal, doom, industrial, sludge and post-metal. Their style is complemented by influences from hardcore, noise, ambient and post-rock - a modern, atmospheric approach that is often described as "post-everything".

Musical inspirations include Black Sabbath, Converge, Code Orange and Deftones, whose influence is reflected in the intense mix of heaviness, atmosphere and experimentation.

Heriot also see themselves as a visual band: music, artwork and videos form an immersive overall experience. Medieval motifs and dark imagery characterize their aesthetics, largely realized together with creative partner Harry Steel, whom the band describes as their "unofficial fifth member".

With their unique blend of brutality, atmosphere and artistic ambition, Heriot are increasingly establishing themselves as a defining force in modern metalcore.
