When darkness falls, they creep out of the hidden corners of our minds: the thoughts of the night. Some tickle our longings awake, reminding us of unfulfilled dreams, others probe and urge, asking us the big question: Why wait? Why not now? Because let's be honest, hand on heart: what would you do if this were your last night?

With a wink, a pinch of melancholy and a lot of heart, the chanson ensemble "Die Damen und Herren Daffke" sings about the abysses and flights of fancy of the nocturnal soul. Whether with the melodies of Friedrich Hollaender, the saucy vocals of the Comedian Harmonists or the expressive chansons of Kurt Weill, the Daffkes dissect the yearnings of the 1920s and find surprising similarities to the desires of modern man.
