81 years after the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, we commemorate the victims and stand together to advocate for a world without nuclear weapons.

4:00 p.m. – Kickoff at Hiroshima Square
March through downtown
Approx. 5:00 p.m. – Rally at Peace Plaza
With speeches, a performance by the Japanese drumming group Senryoku Taiko, and other activities, we will commemorate the humanitarian consequences of nuclear weapons and call for their global abolition.
Especially in times of growing international tensions, the message from Hiroshima and Nagasaki remains more relevant than ever: Never again nuclear weapons. Never again Hiroshima. Never again Nagasaki.
The event is organized by the Dortmund regional chapter of IPPNW (International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War / Physicians for Social Responsibility) and the German-Japanese Society of Dortmund, and is supported by numerous organizations.
