Ritter, Reime und Romanzen. Ein Heinz Erhardt-Abend mit Stefan Keim

“Everything in life goes naturally. Except, of course, my pants don’t go naturally.” Hardly anyone was as skilled at self-deprecating wordplay with the German language as Heinz Erhardt. The comedy icon of the economic miracle era was never hurtful. His humor always remained people-friendly, and when he did strike a dark note, it was done with a wink.
Stefan Keim brings Erhardt—who died in 1979—back to the stage. In “Knights, Rhymes, and Romances,” the audience can hear famous parodies of classics such as Goethe’s “King Erl” or Schiller’s “Apfelschuss,” as well as lighthearted, witty banter. The audience is even treated to an entire opera: Heinz Erhardt’s version of “Carmen.”
Keim transforms himself vocally and visually into Heinz Erhardt and also sings some of his best-known songs, such as “Fräulein Mabel” and “Linkes Auge blau.” The evening aims not only to bring the man and comedian Heinz Erhardt back to life, but also to carry on his unique linguistic acrobatics, reimagining the art of the pun for our modern times. After all, Heinz Erhardt—to use today’s terminology—was the first German stand-up comedian.
