A double rebetiko evening, music from the 1920s-50s.

With bouzouki, baglamas, guitar and violin. And with trombone, sousaphone, viola, banjo, drums and bouzouki. And with all the instruments together. The wedding band and Ta Mourmourakia dive into the world of rebetiko together. Plus the Optimal DJ team with Christos and Jasmin.

Wedding band

Folkloristic-elegant rumple jazz - that's what the members of the wedding band call their music. Founded on the occasion of a wedding in 2012, the five musicians come from very different stylistic backgrounds. With favorite pieces found between Munich, New Orleans and Trinidad, they do what the music was probably originally created for: PLAYING in the best sense of the word, and with great intensity, familiarity and joy. Especially when you hear the originals the wedding band is playing around with: Sun Ra, Moondog, Francoise Hardy, Jackie Mitto, Bill Wells Lee Perry, C.W. Stoneking, Lali Puna, David Lowry... A constantly expanding obscure mixture of equally suitable and rare songs, which are translated to the special instrumentation: Viola, tuba, trumpet, trombone, banjo, drums and a bit of harmonium. There is no singing, it remains instrumental, the melodies speak, or rather sing, for themselves.

Ta Mourmourakia

Ta Mourmourakia play rebetiko from the 1920s-1950s. Rebetiko is an urban musical culture with ancient roots and experienced its development and heyday in the first half of the 20th century. They are songs about love, prison, hashish, loneliness, injustice, etc. Sometimes one or the other theme predominates, sometimes several appear together in one song. Ta Mourmourakia choose songs they love and sing to the sound of guitar, bouzouki, bağlamas and violin.

Jasmin & Christos (Optimal DJ Team)

Music of many colors! If anyone knows vinyl, it's Jasmin and Christos from Optimal. From head to toe: The Optimal Soundsystem will give you a good earful, you'll be on fire! Focussed on Brasil, Reggae & Afro! SAUDÈ!
