In the organizer's words:

For many young people from South Asia who want to pursue a career in the West, Germany is a promising destination.

They take on enormous financial and emotional burdens to move to cities like Berlin as students—hoping to start a better life after graduation. But the reality is often quite different: Private universities rarely live up to their promises, and secure jobs are hard to come by. Many end up working as delivery drivers for platform companies under precarious conditions.

“The Delivery Guy” tells the story of two South Asian immigrants who came to Berlin as students and now work as food delivery drivers. The film sheds light on their hopes, disappointments, and their daily struggle for dignity in a system that barely acknowledges them.

While the government largely ignores precarious working conditions and unregulated educational institutions, these young people remain steadfast in their hope that they will still make it in Germany.

A discussion (in English) will follow the screening.
