Because it was so beautiful - here's to another one! The Metropole Orkest and singer Sheléa took the market square by storm at the Open Air Musikfest finale in September 2023. They revived the Queen of Soul with their rousing tribute to Aretha Franklin. Now the only big band with a full string section on the European music scene and its artistic director Jules Buckley are dedicating themselves to none other than Stevie Wonder. The focus is on his Grammy award-winning album "Innervisions", which he released 50 years ago - with cult tracks such as "Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing", "Higher Ground", "He's Misstra Know-It-All" and "Living For The City". "Undoubtedly one of the greatest albums of all time," says Cory Henry, this year's soloist. As a former member of the fusion-funk-jazz band Snarky Puppy, the American keyboardist and singer already wowed audiences at the 2016 Musikfest with the Metropole Orkest. Now, when this exceptional ensemble envelops him with its lush, full-bodied sound, the music of another soul icon is sure to transform the market square into a dance floor once again with plenty of dynamics and groove!

The open air concert will take place as a standing room concert (free choice of seats) with standing tables set up on the market square. Note: A specially marked parking area will be set up on the market square for wheelchair users (severely disabled pass with the "B" mark) and their companions as well as people with walking disabilities (severely disabled pass with the "G" and "aG" marks).
