HopeTala 's music is influenced by soul, R&B, funk and jazz, which are skillfully combined with modern pop thanks to her soft voice. The British singer celebrated her biggest success to date early on with the single "Lovestained", released in 2019. In 2020, her song "All My Girls Like To Fight" was included in Barack Obama's summer playlist, followed by her tracks "Cherries " (2022) and "I Can't Even Cry" (2024), which brought her great attention. The use of her tracks in "Gossip Girl" and the Netflix production "Wedding Season" also made Hope Tala even more famous. In 2024, she opened the show for SZA in London's Hyde Park and went on her completely sold-out Hope Tala Mini Tour, which took her to New York City, Los Angeles and London. With over 191 million global streams behind her, the Recording Academy listed her among the "25 Artists To Watch in 2025", pointing to the highly anticipated release of her debut album "Hope Handwritten". Hope Tala is coming to Europe in November 2025 and will be performing in Cologne and Berlin.

Hope Natasha McDonald grew up in West London as the daughter of a Jamaican father and a British-Irish mother. She began learning various musical instruments as a child and taught herself to play the guitar at the age of 14. A year later, she started singing, wrote her first songs and began producing her first demos with Logic Pro, which she published on SoundCloud under her stage name Hope Tala. After her first single "Blue", her EP "Starry Ache" was released in 2018 , followed by the EP "Sensitive Soul" in 2019, which celebrated its first hit with "Lovestained". After signing with EMI Records, the EP "Girl Eats Sun" was released in November 2020 . The EP includes "Cherries", "All My Girls Like To Fight" and "Crazy" , three more of Hope Tala's most successful tracks to date. Several standalone singles were released in 2021, of which "Tiptoeing" and "Leave It On The Dancefloor" were the most streamed. In 2024, Hope Tala released the first singles from her debut album "Hope Handwritten", which was released on February 28, 2025 via PMR Records and marked the next step in the singer's career.
