Post-hardcore / punk rock concert at the HALLE
It was more than a moment of shock: Hot Water Music co-vocalist/guitarist Chris Wollard left the band in 2017 for personal reasons.
Although the remaining members - Chuck Ragan (vocals/guitar), Jason Black (bass) and George Rebelo (drums) - understood and supported his decision, the future of the legendary punk band from Gainesville, Florida, was still in doubt. After a chance meeting between Rebelo and Chris Cresswell from The Flatliners, the latter finally stepped in for Wollard at a gig and subsequently became a permanent member of the band. Hot Water Music's most recent album was released in 2022 with him (and, fortunately, Wollard as a recording artist). It's called "Feel The Void" and would be a good reason in itself to visit us again.
But, as you have to celebrate the festivals as they fall, Hot Water Music are all the more pleased to be able to announce their big 30th anniversary tour at the same time, a truly incredible milestone! For their loyal fan base and for the band. "We are humbled and thrilled to have reached this incredible milestone of 30 years together," they let us know: "Our fans have been with us through thick and thin, and this tour is our way of saying thank you for all the love and support over the years. We can't wait to celebrate with you all!"
We can't wait either, we let them know in turn. And say thank you too! And we're even happier that two more of our favorite US post hardcore/melodycore bands, Quicksand (!) and As Friends Rust (!!), are joining us as well. What a dream!
