In the organizer's words:

Over four weekends this summer, the DURCHLÜFTEN music festival transforms the Schlüterhof at the Humboldt Forum into an open-air gathering place, with free admission, where musical traditions from around the world come to life and, through interaction with the audience, become living archives of culture.

5 years open—5 years of DURCHLÜFTEN. The Schlüterhof at Berlin’s Humboldt Forum will once again become a vibrant open-air stage for global music, cultural exchange, and shared experiences. FromJuly 9 to August 1, 2026, the festivalwill present24 live acts and 12 DJs from around the world over four summer weekends. Each evening’s program features two concerts, followed by a DJ set. The result is twelve nights full of musical discoveries, movement, and encounters in the heart of Berlin—once again with free admission for everyone.

For nearly two decades, ZZK Records has been a driving force in the progressive Latin American music scene, reinterpreting folkloric traditions through electronic experimentation and club culture. The label was founded in 2006 out of a wild party in Buenos Aires and played a key role in the global rise of digital cumbia. It has launched the careers of artists such asChancha Vía Circuito, Nicola Cruz, and La Yegros.

Humazapas wasfounded in 2010 when twelve teenagers from Kichwa communities at the foot of the Imbabura volcanoes came together with a shared mission: to revive and carry on their traditional music, dance, and language. What began as a youth initiative has evolved into a strong collective dedicated to preserving Kichwa culture—not as folklore, but as a living practice rooted in rituals, community, and a concrete worldview.

Their debut album,*Sara Mama*(“Mother Corn”), embodies this vision. Sung in Kichwa and built upon traditional rhythms such as Churay, Saruy, Danzante, and Yumbo, the album traces the sacred cycle of maize—from seed to harvest—as a metaphor for life, death, and new beginnings. With harp, drums, strings, and celebratory chants, Humazapas share the spiritual and ecological wisdom of their people, bringing it from their Andean homelands to stages around the world. Sara Mamawas composed, produced, and recorded by Jesús Bonilla at ANTA Records in the Kichwa community of Turuku and mastered by Ecuadorian producer Nicola Cruz.
