Hurricane Festival 2026

Hurricane is a big festival near Scheeßel (between Hamburg and Bremen). You have a huge area with camping around it and a line-up that is usually quite mixed: rock/indie, pop, hip-hop, a bit of electro - depending on what's hot at the time.

Arrival & camping

When you arrive, you'll be directed to the camping areas by many signs and streams of stewards and quickly realize that this is not "small weekend camping", but rather mass processing with tents. Many people build a small base with a pavilion, wallpaper table and boxes. Depending on the location, the distances to the car or to friends can be annoyingly long, which is why many people "really" lug things around on the first day and then try not to forget anything.

On the grounds

In the infield, there are several stages, large headliner slots and the typical rotation: one band plays while the next act is already starting somewhere else - you constantly decide whether to walk over or stand still. It's cramped at the front with big acts, further back it's more relaxed. There are endless food stalls (from fries to "actually too expensive, but never mind") and the usual time-consuming points: Fetching water, going to the loo, returning the deposit, looking for friends.

Weather

Hurricane is known for the fact that weather really does play a role there. If it's dry, it's great - if it rains, it quickly becomes muddy and slippery, especially on the main paths. That's why many people take things with them right from the start that aren't completely waterproof even in the rain (jacket, shoes, something to throw over them).

Audience & atmosphere

The audience is a mixture of "I want to be at the front" and "I just want a good day with music". You'll see groups rushing from act to act all day, and others taking it more leisurely and only taking in the bigger names. Overall, it's very "mainstream festival" in a good sense: big, well organized, but also correspondingly crowded.
