İÇ İÇE, which means "intertwined" or "interwoven" in Turkish, is the first and only diversely positioned festival for new Anatolian music in Germany.
The Anatolian region has always been a melting pot for the most diverse cultural currents and musical traditions. Since the 60s at the latest, these have been unfolding anew in our immediate neighborhood and influencing our everyday life and nightlife, from the underground to pop culture. How artists:inside reinterpret cultural fragments of their identities in a personal way, and thus make their place and voice heard in the societies that are home to them, is the core element of the multilingual and polyphonic festival.
The İÇ İÇE team is made up of majority queer and migrant people who want to celebrate, empower, and further connect our communities with the help of music and art. Since 2021, we have been inviting BİZ BİZE to Körnerpark Neukölln on the day before the festival. With this intervention in public space, we celebrate art and culture that is free from the expectations of the dominant society. İÇ İÇE is more than just a cultural event for us: it is a place of gathering and respectful exchange with each other through various formats and collaborations.
